Powering 80 Acres Farms is the Infinite Acres technology platform, our closed loop, integrated, end-to end system with best-in-class hardware, software, and controls. The research and data teams at Infinite Acres give our farms the information and technology that make our plants grow better.
We are currently accepting applications for Research and Development interns to join our growing teams in Springdale, Arkansas. Candidates must demonstrate the leadership necessary to self-start and manage their work independently, in a spirit of learning in the ever-growing vertical farming industry. The successful candidate will have the drive to jump into complex technical problems and is not afraid to work outside of their comfort zone to help the broader team while taking ownership of their work.
The goal of this project is to generate data tools/products that provide greater understanding of what is happening in our production farms.
The objectives are to (1) Develop a crop model that accurately predicts salable yield in production farms using existing environmental and compliance data; (2) Utilize the model to optimize future and current farm designs (e.g. environmental control systems); (3) Utilize model to optimize future and current farm production to maximize financial goals and focus R&D resources on key variables or knowledge gaps.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ATTRIBUTES
- Manage priority projects while working in collaborative team structure
- Eagerness to learn from our team of supportive, deeply knowledgeable leaders
- Strong computer and data analysis proficiency
- Strong communication skills and ability to adapt across multiple channels of information
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in progress with relevance to business needs
- Preference if any experience within agriculture or food industry/environment
- Must be at least 18 years of age
